Day 1
- Kick off your adventure around 7:00 AM in Yogyakarta, where our friendly team will pick you up from your hotel and get you ready for the journey ahead.
- Hit the road for the scenic drive to Mount Bromo, which takes about 7–9 hours with fun stops along the way to stretch your legs or grab a snack.
- Once you arrive in the Bromo area, we’ll take you straight to your comfy accommodations so you can unwind and gear up for the sunrise tour the next morning.
Day 2
- Start your day super early, around 3:30 AM, for the Mount Bromo sunrise adventure (weekends may start a little earlier to beat the crowds). Your jeep will take you to the famous Penanjakan Hill. This is where you’ll catch one of the most stunning sunrises in East Java, framed by mountains and volcanoes.
- After sunrise, continue the adventure to the vast sea of sand. You can cross it on foot or ride a horse—totally your choice—until you reach the stairs leading up to Mount Bromo’s crater.
- Climb to the summit and marvel at the volcanic activity, snapping photos and soaking in the breathtaking scenery.
- Head back to your jeep and return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast, a refreshing shower, and then pack up and load your bags.
- Hit the road toward the Ijen Crater area—a scenic 5–6 hour drive passing rural villages, rice fields, plantations, small towns, and even some beaches. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant along the way.
- Arrive at your hotel in the Ijen area by late afternoon or early evening, just about an hour from the crater. Rest up and get ready for the Ijen Crater trek the next morning.
Day 3
- Wake up early around 5:00 AM for your Ijen Crater adventure. We’ll drive you first to the village of Licin, then onward to the slope of Ijen. The route winds through lush plantations and a rare rainforest, alive with giant ferns and vibrant
- The drive from your hotel takes about an hour. Once at the Ijen parking area, prepare for a 1–1.5 hour hike to the crater. The trail is filled with fresh mountain air and singing birds around every turn.
- At the summit, you’ll reach an altitude of roughly 2,385 meters (about 7,824 feet). The turquoise acid lake below is mesmerizing, and the view from above is absolutely picture-perfect. (If weather permits and you’re up for it, there’s a chance to witness the magical blue flames and sunrise at Ijen. This requires leaving the homestay around 12:30 AM, so plan accordingly.)
- Witness the incredible sulfur miners in action. They carry loads of up to 80 kilograms (around 176 pounds) along the crater’s edge—a truly dangerous and remarkable job.
- After soaking in the crater’s beauty, descend to the parking area where your car awaits. On the way to Banyuwangi, we’ll make a quick stop at local coffee and clove plantations for a glimpse of rural life.
- Back in Banyuwangi, pick up your bags and drive to Ketapang. Take the ferry to Gilimanuk at Bali’s western tip, where our Bali driver will escort you to your hotel. Your tour concludes here.
